The belief in the Mahdi is not only an essential doctrine deep-rooted in Islamic faith but rather it is an embodiment of human nature regardless of one’s religious affiliations. For it is the universal desire of humans as a whole to try to achieve or at least witness the realisation of the ultimate objective of their existence, through which they will achieve perfection and social happiness in their entirety. Therefore by reason of inner necessity and inspiration, humans will see a day when society will be replete with justice.

More importantly, from a religious perspective the concept of the Mahdi is the culmination of human struggle in their path towards God the Almighty.

 Le nom du douzième Imam est le même que celui du Saint Prophète de l’Islam. Mahdi promis qui est habituellement désigné par ses titres "Imam du temps" et "Seigneur du temps" est le fils du onzième Imam. Il est né le 15 Cha’bãn de l’an 256 de l’Hégire à Samarra. Il devint Imam après le martyre de son père. Il est toujours vivant  mais il est invisible et les gens ne le voient pas. Il réapparaîtra d’après l’Ordre Divin.

   L’Imam n’apparaissait que à ses représentants et dans des circonstances exceptionnelles. L’Imam choisit comme des représentants spéciaux: Othmãn fils de  Sa’id Al-Amri qui était un des compagnons

When Muhammad bin Abd Allah revolted one of the jurists of Medina by the name of Muhammad bin Ajlan also rose with him. After he was killed Ja’far bin Sulayman the governor of Medina summoned Muhammad bin Ajlan and asked him: "Why did you rise with that liar?" He then ordered his hands to be cut. Other jurists who were present in the court at that time interceded on his behalf emphasizing that Muhammad bin Ajlan was a pious jurist of Medina and had erroneously regarded Muhammad bin Abd Allah as the Mahdi promised in the traditions. Another well-known jurist and a prominent scholar of the hadith Abd Allah bin Ja’far also rose with Muhammad bin Abd Allah. When the latter was killed he fled from Medina and remained in hiding until he was granted amnesty. One day the governor of Medina passed by him and asked him the reason why he arose with Muhammad bin Abd Allah in spite of his learning in the law and traditions. He replied: "The reason I supported and cooperated with him was that I was confident that he was the promised Mahdi about whom we have been informed in the traditions.
